Day 296 - Day 297 - Day 298 Visiting Davao

One of the beautiful Philippine Eagles (formerly known as the Monkey Eating Eagle) who lives in a sanctuary on Mt. Apo in Davao City, Philippines. These endangered eagles are part of a captive breading program of the Philippine Eagle Foundation. The eagles are found in the rain forests of Mindanao as well as several islands of Indonesia where they are threatened with a loss of habitat due to logging and farming. These birds are among the largest in the world.
