This United Flight Attendant was on her way to Las Vegas where she had front row seats at a Barry Manilow concert. She decided to wear the blue feathered hat so it wouldn't get smashed in her suitcase. She said she had a blue spangly dress to put on for the show!

A passenger had this wonderful "boa" made of ribbons braided together. Loops are left hanging out of the braid. I thought that the one ribbon made it look like feathers.

Some of the leaves in my yard are turning yellow. Fall has finally arrived in the city! The air conditioners were taken out of the windows and the furnace was turned on.

This t-shirt reminded me of Becca!

When she was staying with Rach's grandmother-in-law in Jerusalem a few years ago

the old (104!) woman would ask her (in Arabic),

"who are you and why are you in my house?"

Becca would reply, "remember? I'm Becca".

The the grandmother would say, "Baka, what kind of name is that?"

Baka is apparently "Duck" in Arabic.

So for Halloween later that year, Becca dressed up like a duck.

The best part of the costume was her orange Crocs.

These two ladies were headed home after a visit to Nashville where they got these hats that are covered with sequins.

The blue hat has a little blinking guitar pin!!

Boise will never be the same after they get home.

Again with the shoes! This pair of cute, cute shoes were sparkley and flashed every time she took a step. They had multiple little led lights.

My passenger, Ms. King, was on her way from Montana to Arkansas. She is a member of the Crow tribe and said that she changes her hat from time to time depending on her mood and what she is doing.

to meet family and friends in Louisiana.

This couple won the "Picture of the Day" for today over

these two cute dogs who were also traveling today.

Day 202 - Beadwork

A passenger was concerned about putting his beadwork in the overhead compartment.

He showed us several examples of what he had in his bag. According to him,

this beautiful medallion was made by Jerrica Windfeather, a Lakota artist.

He also had this wonderful crown. It was made by Todd Yellowtail according to him.

Sometimes stand-by passengers will bring treats for gate agents.

It doesn't really help them get a seat on the flight but it does say, "Thank you for helping me today."

It is always unexpected but a nice treat!

Day 166 - Guide Dog

Pierce was a very calm Guide Dog on one of our planes.
The problem with using the little camera is that sometimes there is a bit of a focus problem that isn't evident when you look at the picture on the little screen. I took another photo that was in focus but he was not looking at me.

Day 150 - Internment Camp Survivor

Shown here are Mr. Arthur Ogami and his wife Kimiko, who were on the way to Bismark, ND. Mr. Ogami, a nisei, a US citizen born and raised in California, was interned after Pearl Harbor at the camp in Manzanar, CA for 2 years. He then was moved to the camp at Tule Lake, CA where he was kept for another year. Then he and his parents were sent to Ft. Lincoln in ND. His parents wanted to be exchanged for POW's so that they could go home to Japan. He also renounced his citizenship to keep his family together. Mr. Ogami spent 7 years working at a US military hospital in Japan where he met his wife. Then with the help of the commander he was able to regain his citizenship and return to California. He is in ND to help dedicate a memorial to those who were kept at that camp.
In his words, "I am part of little known US history."

and on a side note, he said that Pat Nixon was one of his HS teachers in Whittier, CA (before she was married!)
