Day 279 - Day 283 Views of Fall

Day 279
10/6/2010
A passenger had this wonderful "boa" made of ribbons braided together. Loops are left hanging out of the braid. I thought that the one ribbon made it look like feathers.

Day 280
10/7/2010
This spectacular flowerin
g kale is in a street medium on Monaco
Parkway at the corner of Richtofen Place Parkway.

Day 281
10/8/2010
Some of the leaves in my yard are turning yellow. Fall has finally arrived in the city! The air conditioners were taken out of the windows and the furnace was turned on.

Day 282
10/9/2010
My neighbor has this charming wind chime hanging in her yard.

Day 283
10/10/2010
This house in the Montclair neighborhood in Denver is not for aracnaphobics!

Day 278 - Puppy

10/5/2010
Raisin is Brityn's new puppy. They were on their way to South Dakota I think.

Day 277 - Sunrise

10/4/2010
Sunrise on Concourse B, Denver International Airport.
The moving walkway moves toward the Eastern window near gate B60. 7am

Day 276 - Quack

10/3/2010
This t-shirt reminded me of Becca!
When she was staying with Rach's grandmother-in-law in Jerusalem a few years ago
the old (104!) woman would ask her (in Arabic),
"who are you and why are you in my house?"
Becca would reply, "remember? I'm Becca".
The the grandmother would say, "Baka, what kind of name is that?"
Baka is apparently "Duck" in Arabic.
So for Halloween later that year, Becca dressed up like a duck.
The best part of the costume was her orange Crocs.

Day 275 - Cookies

10/2/2010
These wonderful cookies were made by Mae for our Rocky Mountain Cut-Ups meeting.
She used a vintage Reddy Kilowat cutter. So cute!

Day 274 - Western Coat and Hat

10/1/2010
This gentleman was proud of the jacket and hat that he had inherited from his brother. Note the wonderful beading down the front and the cape of fur over the shoulders.
Before you say anything, I am not generally in favor of hunting for fur but I will not criticize someone who has such a wonderful example of Western folk art as this jacket.

Day 273 - Missing Shirley

9/30/2010

Missing my friend Shirley who lost her fight this afternoon in California. Now she will be able to decorate her cookies without any pain, The angels will be the lucky recipients.

This photo was taken in June at the National Cookie Cutter Collector's Club Convention in California. This is my friend, Shirley with one of her cookie jars that she won in the convention raffle. We shared a lot of laughs.
